6/29/08

Geneva swept the Royals today winning the first game 5-3 and the second game 5-1. The Braves looked like a team today only having two errors combined in both games which has killed them in the past. Winning pitchers Jonathan Arroyo and Jason Ross looked unstoppable, both throwing for complete games.

6/10/08

Two Waterloo players on the team were in a moped accident the other day, Dakota Bean and Steve Jones. Jones with a busted hand and Bean with a busted ankle could not play this past Sunday. The team is hoping both are rubbing vagisil on their battle wounds and taking plenty of midol so they can play on 15th.

6/8/08

Both of Geneva Braves games were played in Webster on the Ridgecrest field. Braves went 0-2 again this week. The first game was 8-0. The Braves had a shakey second inning where the Canadians scored all 8 runs. Other than that inning the Geneva played well. The Braves were hitting the ball well but couldn't catch a break. They were hitting the ball right to the defensive players. The second game was 14-0. Too many errors in this game. The Braves seem to be getting better and the bats are starting to come alive. Expect different results in week 3 against Hilton.

6/1/08

Both games today were played at the varsity baseball field behind North Street Elementary School because of too much water on the field at McDonough Park. The Braves lost both games 9-2 in the first game and 10-5 in the second game against the Orioles. Geneva had too many errors that cost them both games.

Our new jerseys won't be ready in time so we have to wear the Panthers jerseys for opening day.

We would like to welcome Casey Rice to the Braves lineup. Casey plays second base for U Mass Boston.

We would like to welcome Neil Scheible, Danny Mendez and Eddie Corrion to the Braves. Scheible and Mendez both pitched for FLCC this past season. Corrion is a hard throwing southpaw and is expected to be one of the best in our rotation.
